Third Shot Drop was a labour of love.  Founded in 2016, David Bussiere, and his wife Alice have been playing since 2013.  The focus of Third Shot Drop was teaching new players and helping existing players get better.  The "New Player" & "Up Your Game" sessions have been extremely popular in Ontario and Quebec.  

In August 2022, David became the first pickleball director of the brand new Kingston Racquet Centre.  The KRC is partially owned by Tennis Clubs of Canada.  One of the partners and shareholders is Milos Raonic, Canadian tennis superstar.  

The KRC has one dome with 12 amazing pickleball courts,  and a second dome with 6 tennis courts.  The KRC includes changing areas with showers, will offer an upper viewing mezzanine where you can enjoy time with friends, and for team building and more!  

David is excited about teaching players and delivering amazing play experiences.  When you are in Kingston, reach out to David for a tour, a lesson, and or to play!  

UPDATE:  May 2023, David rebranded Third Shot Drop to coincide with the opening of the Kingston Racquet Centre.  With a pro shop in the new multi sport dome, with 12 pickleball courts, it only made sense to call it the Pickleball Authority.  The Sports Authority in the US at one time had over 460 locations.  The Pickleball Authority pro shop has  an amazing selection of everything pickleb at great prices.  

David now organizes hundreds of hours each year in organized play options for players at the KRC.  Almost all events sell out and are extremely popular.   Pickleball clubs partner with David and the KRC to use the 12 courts weekly and run tournaments and special events.  The KRC do virtually no advertising, relying instead on referrals of satisfied players.  David has a network of over 2000 players that continues to grow. 

Pickleball Authority provides equipment to the Kingston Sport & Social Club, the Kingston Seniors Association, and Queens University. They also supply balls to municipalities and clubs across Canada.  In 2019 he became the coach for the Kingston Special Olympics pickleball team.  

David feels that players need to be better informed prior to purchasing their paddles.  Players will often buy equipment online or from an old style retail store without fully understanding a product's benefits or short-comings.  The Pickleball Authority's pro shop  is next to 12 courts.   They offer players a unique on court opportunity to try out brand name paddles at all price points before making their purchase.

​David is a certified level II insured instructor with the IPTPA.  He is Onix Canada's marketing point person, produces and creates content for a Youtube channel "Pickleball Authority", and runs a successful online and court-side store.  It is busy but fun.
